We can continue to help reunite pets with their owner’s, but we need your help.

You provide the love and care while we find the owners or a new home.

WHAT DOES FOSTERING A DOG or CAT INVOLVE?

When you foster, you agree to take a homeless animal into your home and give him or her love, care and attention, either for a predetermined period of time or until the animal is adopted.

WHY DO WE NEED FOSTER HOMES?

  • Jefferson County doesn’t have a physical shelter and depends on foster homes to care for stray cats & dogs until owners are found or suitable homes are found.
  • A puppy or kitten needs a safe place to stay until he or she is old enough to go to a forever home.
  • A cat or dog is recovering from surgery, illness or injury and needs a safe place to recuperate.
  • A cat or dog has not lived in a home before or has not had much contact with people and needs to be socialized.
