The AS&C is now offering this optional Pet Registration service for both Cat’s and Dog’s
Why Register Your Pet?
When a lost animal is found, the fastest way they can find their owners are if they are wearing a collar with ID tags. For those without ID tags it takes longer to search for their owners.
In addition to pet ID tags and microchips, by registering your pet with AS&C, your pet ownership will be in a local data base for a faster way to connect you with your lost pets. (Similar to the national data base for microchips but with this registration it doesn’t require a chip reader.
When a lost animal is found and brought to the AS&C shelter, we first check for a microchip, followed by checking the AS&C pet registration records. If your pet is not chipped but is registered with the AS&C, we can quickly contact you, letting you know your furry friend is safe and awaiting reunion with their family.
You may register your pet in person scheduling an appointment with the Animal Shelter and Care or apply for registration online.
3 yr Registration fee: $8 per pet, each additional pet $6
Senior discount $6 (65 yrs or older) each additional pet $6
5 yr Registration fee: $12 per pet, each additional pet $10
Senior discount $10 (65 yrs. or older) each additional pet $10
The AS&C receive many lost and found reports county wide to post lost and found pet notices on their social media network. With the help of our AS&C Shelter software, we have the option to provide this additional service for our county community. Animals registered with AS&C can easily be looked up to match the animals with the owners immediately.
The only requirement to register your dog and/or cat is proof of a current rabies vaccination. If rabies vaccinations are updated before registration period ends, please keep us posted and submit new rabies vaccination proof before it laps.
If the rabies vaccine lapses, you will need to renew registration.
