The Animal Shelter and Care of Jefferson County will have the philosophy that they will do all it can to place every animal in a loving home. Working with animal rescue/animal sanctuary agencies and implementing strong emphases on forever home adoption, animal behavior rehabilitation, foster home network, pet micro-chipping and spay/neuter.
The Animal Shelter and Care of Jefferson County facility’s major goal will be the first place people turn to when they need help with their pets. To meet that goal the shelter would offer a variety of services to benefit all of the animals in the Jefferson County community, not just those in the shelter.
The AS&C Shelter will be located at 23 Muskrat Ln in Boulder, MT. providing a clear and easy access for Law Enforcement and the general population of the County. The AS&CC has launched a Capital Fundraising Campaign to build a 5,000 sq. ft. shelter to accommodate 20 indoor/outdoor covered dog kennel runs, a 42 cat cattery, a community cat lounge, indoor activity room and provide the needed venue space for animal services such as continuing our low cost spay, neuter & vaccination Program. The estimated cost for building the shelter is roughly $825,000. This estimate is subject to change as cost rise.
We realize our goals to build the shelter is a uphill climb raising the needed funds to complete the shelter building, but our team is committed to fulfill this Jefferson County need no matter how long it takes. To help reach this goal the building project has been split into four phases. The AS&CC’s goal is to raise the needed funds to accomplish each phase before moving onto the next construction phase.
We are excited the project is starting to move forward to becoming a reality as we raise the needed funds for the Animal Shelter Facility step by step.
Feel free to view the photo slide below to see our floor plans and progress being done on the project.
Until the funds are raised to move forward to finish “Phase one” of the main shelter, we have started our kennel building project ahead of schedule to help ease the increasing numbers of strays and abandoned animals in the County.
